About Us

Lifestyle Personal Training started in 2002 not only as a fitness organization but also as a way to help clients find better overall health through exercise, healthy eating, and positive thinking. Our personal and small group training can be geared towards beginners, guide clients to reach specific goals or help an athlete achieve the next level of fitness for their particular sport. We offer in home training for your convenience where we provide all the necessary equipment and guidance to accomplish your goal without the need for an expensive gym membership. I am the owner and operator of Lifestyle Personal Training. I have a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science and am an ACE certified personal trainer. Since LPT was established in 2002, I have had great success in helping individuals of all ages obtain their health and fitness goals. I am a NASM certified personal trainer and a Yoga Alliance certified teacher for LPT. After losing between 50 to 60 pounds more than 11 years ago, I’ve continued my health and fitness journey by incorporating scientifically-backed methods to successfully reach the goals of not only my clients, but myself as well. Beyond possessing extensive experience in training for weight loss, I’m well-versed in numerous forms of training, including strength, endurance, bodyweight, resistance, bodybuilding, HIIT, circuit training and etc. I’ve also been a yogi for 8+ years. My classes draw from a wide range of yoga disciplines, including Vinyasa, Hatha, Iyengar and more. I am committed to each practice been to rich in variety, and structured to be maximally safe and effective. My personalized method not only strengthens and deepens the practice of any attendee, but guarantees the optimal level of entertainment as well. Whatever your goal is, let’s sit down and talk about how to reach it, making it as effective and as fun for you as possible!

I graduated from Trinity Christian College with a degree in Exercise Science with Psychology and Coaching minors. At Trinity, I grew to love the fitness world. I ran track and field for four years and was captain of the team my senior year. I helped my teammates to reach their goals and gave them ideas about what they should be doing to get to their goals. Before my time at Trinity Christian College, I was a three-sport athlete. I learned at a young age that I wanted to help people as a career. I am here to help as many as people that I can!

Sarah Burke

Sarah Burke

Hi! I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer who promotes body confidence and views fitness as a journey. My main goals are to both motivate you and give you the tools you need to reach and surpass your fitness goals. Previously a collegiate pitcher, I am well versed in goal setting and instilling mental toughness into whoever I coach and train. I remain involved in softball as an instructor for pitching, hitting, and fielding where I implement my knowledge as a Personal Trainer into my lessons.

Dan Atkenson

Dan Atkenson

Dan is a native of Crestwood, IL and a graduate of Carl Sandburg High School where he played baseball and basketball. He was a pitcher on the baseball team and was selected as MVP in IHSA State Championship in 2002. After high school, Dan attended Northern Illinois University where he received a degree in Preventive and Rehabilitative Exercise Science. During his time there, Dan also was a pitcher on the baseball team. Dan got many awards on and off the field including Huskie Scholar 4 years in a row and was an NSCA All American voted by staff from Northern as "the first to arrive and last to leave in the weight room".
Dan has a passion to help people reach their fitness goals and is passionate and dedicated to helping you TODAY!

I graduated from Western Michigan University with an Exercise Science degree and also hold an ACE PT certification. Having lived in the south suburbs of Chicago my whole life, aside from going to school in Michigan, I am excited to help my south side family get healthy and accomplish their goals!

Lifestyle Personal Training has changed my life. I'm diabetic, have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. From working out with LPT, I have cut my blood pressure medication in half, I have cut my blood sugar medication from 1,000mg a day to 250mg and have eliminated one of the two medications I take for cholesterol.
When walking into work from my car, I would have to walk so slow because I would run out of breath. Now I walk 2 miles everyday on my lunch break. I have also participated in a 4 mile walk for charity.
LPT is not only there for the exercise, but also they're there for emotional support and guidance. Their commitment to me brings out the fight and commitment within myself.
I've struggled all my life with my weight. Dieting on and off, and maybe exercising. Not really understanding what a difference a proper workout can make. It does make a difference.... I believe it saved my life.

I have one word to describe personal training with Lifestyle Personal Training…Phenomenal!!! I was probably the biggest skeptic around about exercise & the benefits of exercise & proper nutrition before I started working out with LPT.
Summer hit, and I decided I was sick of eating bad, and, quite frankly, looking completely out of shape. LPT trainers are excellent motivators. I was hitting a Size 8 or 10 prior to training with them. In just two and a half months I have dropped down to a Size 2.
I have never felt better BOTH physically and mentally since I started training with LPT. I’m no longer sluggish, my focus/concentration at work is now phenomenal, and I look great! Also, I now actually look forward to working out!!! Additionally, an added bonus is that LPT is really knowledgeable about exercise & nutrition…They definitely know their stuff!!!
